To See What I See

Sometimes while I look at something truly magnificent, I'll think 'if you could only see what I see'. I speak to no one in particular, it's just such a beautiful sight that I think all human beings should see that sight and breath in it's beauty. Today on the lake I thought that, then pulled off my sunglasses and got this shot. To me it is the perfect representation of how to look at something from a different perspective.

My Brain Child

So I realize that since I am in almost all of these pictures it's technically not my photography, but it's my dream for a photoshoot, and I felt like the best way I could express it was to be in the pictures myself. Sometimes I can't sleep because I'm thinking of elaborate photoshoot ideas.... (I'm a bit crazy and obsessed, I don't mind admitting it) and this shoot actually ended up working out. Between the dress, the copper letters, and the location, it was this perfect romantic and whimsical shoot.

Kaylee Ruth

The pictures below, for your viewing pleasure, are of my twin sister.
(Did I mention I'm a twin?) She's pretty much a dang awesome sister and twin, and puts up with so much from not-as-awesome sister! Especially helping me experiment with this new location, which I kinda pretty much love. Enjoy!!

For Young Womens, one of the girls decided she wanted to learn how to take pictures, so she asked me to teach her. Although I do not think by any means I am an expert.... no expert AT ALL. It's nice to know that I do have a little bit that I can teach to her. Our subject for the last lesson was the adorable Taylor. Although my little 'students' pictures will come later, here are a few I snapped when I just couldn't not take pictures of this precious girl. Have I mentioned.... I love my camera? Cause I do. Like.... a lot.

I can't get over how the picture above looks in black and white... can you say breathtaking??

Okay here's the deal- I flippin' LOVE my new camera. I got the beautiful Nikon D-5000 and two days later I had this shoot and was so excited to use it and couldn't be happier with the results. Having my own camera is absolutely wonderful! Adriana and her friends were so much fun and were such troopers to wake up early for a photo shoot the morning after they graduated!

Studio Photo Recap

Today was the last day of the EVIT school year, and although I will be returning next year, I am very sad to be without that creative outlet the entire summer. I can't believe it's been a year since I started it and me and my sappy self can't help but remember how much I did not want to go that stupid 'graphic design' class. Where I would learn nothing about photography. And boy... was I wrong! I feel like there is no better place that I could learn about photography AND graphic design. I learned from experience, with real job and real people. Not just from a textbook. Anyways. I'm getting ahead of myself. Here's a recap of this year's studio photos, from the beginning to end. It's crazy to see the difference!

The picture above is from the very first studio photo shoot I ever participated in. I was so nervous, but fell in love with it!

Skydiving

All right so I've been pretty horrible with getting around to edit these pictures, but a couple months ago my Dad and uncles decided to go skydiving and asked me to to come along as the photographer. I really like these shots because they didn't even know I was there. I mean.... c'mon. They're about to jump out of a plane. They weren't noticing me and my five foot little frame at all!

The pictures above is probably my favorite of the day. Can't you just feel the excitement?
